Stunning Hand-Painted Legend of Zelda Sneakers

One of the bad parts of working in a junkyard is that my shoes don’t tend to stay nice for very long.  So while I may not skimp on my shoes when it comes to comfort, I don’t bother going for really cool looking shoes because they will end up dirty and greasy after a day or two.  However, I still greatly admire really well done hand-painted shoes.  Speaking of amazing hand-painted shoes, I think perhaps my favorite shoe artist is probably Bobs Made.  In the past, I have posted a couple pairs of their shoes including some Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker shoes and some electrifying Pikachu shoes.  Today, I found some beautiful Legend of Zelda Link shoes from them I thought you guys would love.

These amazing hand-painted Legend of Zelda Link shoes from Bobs Made were made for the boyfriend of a girl named Kristina.  They were made with a pair of Converse Chuck Taylor All-Stars (apparently the canvas on these shoes is perfect for painting because they seem to be the preferred shoe by shoes artists), LUCAS acrylic paints, and Faber Castell waterproof pens.

These are truly some stunning shoes and perhaps the best looking Zelda shoes I have seen!

Super Mario Bros All Star Converse Shoes

It always irritates me when things I really want aren’t sold in the US, mainly because the cost of getting something imported is insane.  I’ve been known to pay upwards of $45 just to get a DVD shipped from Europe since it couldn’t be found in the US.  Its not very often I have stuff imported (I would quickly go broke if I did it a lot), but sometimes it is just necessary and I suspect that this is one of those times because the Super Mario Bros shoes below are awesome!

In the past, I have posted some really cool Super Mario Bros themed shoes including some neat Super Mario Bros heels (here is another pair I like just as much) as well as some Paper Mario VANS sneakers.  However, unlike those, these Super Mario Bros themed Converse One Star shoes are going to be available to the masses, at least assuming you live in Japan.

These shoes come in red or green depending on if you want the old 8-bit Mario or 8-bit Bowser and the feature a Super Star on the side replacing the normal Converse Star.

Apparently if you can find them in Japan, they are running in the area of 20,000 yen or $195.  At that price, I think I can live without them because by the time I got done with the import costs and everything, I wouldn’t be surprised if the total cost ended up closer to $300 and that is just crazy for Mario shoes.  I will never pay that much for shoes!

Spectacular Hand-Painted Doctor Who Shoes

It is rather unfortunate that the styles of shoes I tend to buy from my favorite shoe manufacturer (New Balance) don’t lend themselves to being painted or really customized in any way.  I appreciate that the mesh they use allows my foot to breath but you can’t really customize it and it lets liquid through like its not even there which can be very annoying.  However, for those that like to customize their shoes, there seems to be no better shoe to do that than with some Chuck Taylor All Stars by Converse.

In the past, I have posted some pretty cool hand-painted Doctor Who shoes like the amazing 10th and 11th Doctor sneakers and the TARDIS chucks however, I think the Doctor Who shoes below might be my favorite pair of Doctor Who shoes.

Etsy seller SatansSlippers is selling these hand-painted Doctor Who sneakers featuring the TARDIS and a Dalek for just $64.45.  That is half the price of my shoes and my shoes aren’t even this cool!

Although these are the standard shoes they make, if you want other Doctor Who icons painted on there, they will do them by request so if you want a Weeping Angel and K-9 instead of a TARDIS and Dalek, make sure to let them know when you order!

For as much as people seem to like them, I have just never had any desire to try on a pair of Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star sneakers.  I have seen some people make some incredible works of art on them like the Yoda Chucks I posted in the past as well as the really cool Street Fighter sneakers but I guess I just have a hard time convincing myself to change shoe brands.  Considering I order my shoes online where I really don’t have the opportunity to try other kinds like I would in a store, it makes me hesitant to try something other than my beloved New Balance.  Anyway…

Speaking of hand painted Chucks, the fantastic artist over at Bobs Made created this fantastic looking hand painted 10th and 11th Doctor Converse Chuck Taylor shoes.  Whether you are a Matt Smith fan, a David Tennant fan or just a lover of the color blue, I think you are going to love these shoes!

If they sold Doctor Who shoes like this where I get my shoes online (Zappos), then I might be willing to venture out of my comfort zone and try a different brand of shoes.  Until that happens, I guess I will be sticking with New Balance and just loving shoes like these from afar.

Having no artistic skills at all, I buy shoes that I can’t really decorate since I wouldn’t know what to do with them if I did and they would like like crap if I even tried to paint or draw something on them.  However, there are some people out there that like to buy shoes that can be easily customized because unlike me, they have the artistic skill required to draw something other than the worlds ugliest stick figures.  In this particular case, one of those people also happens to be a Doctor Who fan.

Any Doctor Who fan is sure to appreciate these hand painted VANS sneakers made to look like the TARDIS and a Dalek.  Unfortunately, I don’t know who painted these awesome shoes to give them credit so if you know who did this to these shoes, please let us know in the comments below so they can get the credit they deserve!

Speaking of hand painted Doctor Who shoes, if you love the ones below, I suggest you also check out the 10th and 11th Doctor shoes I posted a while back as well as the black and white Doctor Who shoes that I think might be my all time favorites.

Thanks to the material my shoes are made of, any real cool customizations just aren’t possible which makes me kind of sad, but I still enjoy seeing the works of art that people make out of their shoes.  In this particular case, I stumbled across some really cool hand-painted Doctor Who shoes featuring the TARDIS and the 10th and 11th Doctor.

These fantastic painted Doctor Who shoes which features the TARDIS and the 10th and 11th Doctor’s clothing was posted on Facebook by Post Pond Depression.  Their mom made them for them and I think they turned out great!  Unfortunately, I think when you get laces in these shoes, I think it will kind of ruin part of their Doctor Who charm.

I wish you could buy shoes like these somewhere because I would love to have a pair.

Beautiful Hand Painted Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Shoes

Until recently, for about the past year or so, I have been wearing Legend of Zelda hats whenever I would leave the house (now I wear a God of War hat).  I would always get complements on my Zelda hats from pretty much any gamer that I would meet which always made my day.   However, I have never really wanted to sport Zelda on my feet until I saw this amazing hand painted Ocarina of Time shoes.

These amazing hand painted Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time Vans shoes were made by Lauren Campbell.  The best part is that she sells custom shoes like these!

On her Etsy page, you can get a custom pair of these Legend of Zelda shoes for just $100.  That seems like a bargain considering I pay at least that for my non-painted tennis shoes.

If you get a custom pair from her, let us know in the comments below and feel free to share pictures as I would love to see them!

Custom Designed Doctor Who TARDIS Converse Sneakers [pic]

If you are the kind of person that loves to show off their passions and one of those passions happens to be Doctor Who, then I have the shoes for you!  Check out these amazing Doctor Who TARDIS Converse All Star shoes!

Etsy seller WibblyWobblyShoes (definitely an appropriate name for somebody that sells TARDIS shoes) is selling these custom Doctor Who TARDIS Converse shoes for $115.  The best part is that you can specify the size you need and have these shoes made just for you!  However, since these TARDIS shoes are custom made, apparently they can take up to 6 weeks to ship although if you order now, you should still have them in time for the Doctor Who Christmas Special!

I’m very tempted to order a pair for myself as it is about time for me to get some new shoes, although I have always been a New Balance guy and I don’t know if I would like Converse All Star sneakers or not.

Paper Mario VANS Shoes [pic]

As much as I love all things Super Mario Bros, I have yet to ever play one of the Paper Mario games.  One of these days I will get around to trying them, but until then, I can admire these custom Paper Mario VANS shoes!

These custom painted Paper Mario VANS shoes were created by Off The Wall Art.  I am extremely impressed with how these turned out!  I don’t know how much Off The Wall Art charges for custom shoes, but from browsing their Facebook page, it looks like you can get a pair of custom shoes like these from them!  I’m actually quite tempted to have them make me a pair of these even if I am not a fan of Van’s sneakers.

Custom Pikachu Sneakers [pics]

I’ve seen and blogged many custom pairs of shoes that look amazing, but there is just something about this pair of Pikachu shoes that seems special.  I think it would even be appropriate to call them electrifying!

Like many Pokemon fans, I am a huge Pikachu fan so I would be lying if I said I didn’t want  a pair of these awesome Pikachu sneakers.  However, I have more shoes than I can wear right now so I don’t think I will be ordering these just yet.  However, for those that can’t live without these awesome Pikachu shoes, you can order a pair of custom Pikachu sneakers from BOBSMADE for $163.
