Archives For Video Games

It kind of amazes me when I sit back and think about the fact that I have been playing video games for over 24 years now.  All those years ago, I started my gaming addiction with my NES (which I still have and it works) and I have a lot of fond memories of growing up playing games like Super Mario Bros, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Battletoads, Duck Hunt and many others.  That is why I am so fond of this NES controller shirt and I am sure that anybody else that grew up with a NES will be too!

The awesome geeks over at SuperHeroStuff are selling this nostalgic NES controller shirt for just $19.99!  Right now, they only have a size large in stock but other sizes are on order so if you need a different size, keep checking back and I am sure they will have them in the next few days.

I would love to know how many of you grew up with an NES?  Do you still play it?  Let me know in the comments and feel free to share your favorite NES games as I am always looking for new ones to try!

It has been quite a while since I have played Skyrim but after seeing this incredible Daedric armor cosplay, the game seems to be calling me to play it again.  I usually post some rather awesome cosplay here on Fanboy Fashion (I don’t care to post the crappy stuff I see) but this is one of those times where it is so good that I am absolutely blown away!

Seeing some armor that is made out of real steal rather than just crafting foam is kind of nice for a change.

This mind blowing Skyrim inspired Daedric armor was created by a cosplayer known as Strike Works.  Apparently he crafted this incredible suit of Daedric armor with 16, 18 and 20 gauge steel that was all hammered by hand and then chemically treated to give it its black, darker look.  He also used some strips of red LED lights for the cool lighting effect on the chest.

If I ever need a suit of armor made for me, this is the guy I am going to because he clearly knows what he is doing!  Hit up the source link below to see a full gallery of pictures from this incredible cosplay.

Maybe its just me, but it seems like crazy movie / Super Mario mash-up t-shirt day.  Over on my other blog, Global Geek News, today I featured a Super Mario and Godfather mash-up t-shirt that is $11 today and now I stumbled across another awesome Mario movie mash-up shirt that I thought you guys would love.

Some of my all time favorite movies are the Indiana Jones movies (not including the crystal skull one) and I have been a Super Mario Bros fan since I was two and still play the NES classic almost daily so when I saw this shirt come up for sale, you might say I got a little excited.  This is definitely one of those must buy shirts for me!

Speaking of buying this shirt, the super geeky folks over at TeeFury are selling this ‘Itsamea Jones’ Super Mario and Indiana Jones mash-up t-shirt for just $11 today only!  The very clever design was created by tomkurzanski and I’d say he did a fantastic job with it!

I know I will be buying one of these shirts today, what about you?  Let me know in the comments how much you love this shirt and if you plan on buying one for yourself or another Mario and Indiana Jones fan you know!

Seeing people do steampunk versions of iconic characters like superheroes or video games characters is always amazing.  I am constantly blown away by the incredible creativity and sense of style when people do a steampunk version of the characters they love.  In the past, I have posted some really cool steampunk style cosplay including a very impressive steampunk Princess Peach cosplay but I think this is perhaps the first time I have ever seen somebody do some steampunk Link cosplay.

This incredible Legend of Zelda inspired steampunk Link cosplay was done by MolecularAgatha.  I think she did a pretty impressive job with this cosplay!  I think my favorite part is the Triforce goggles although the leather work is pretty impressive too.  And of course, if you have been reading Fanboy Fashion or even my other blog, Global Geek News for a while, you know that I can’t do a post like this without mentioning how hot I think a girl in pointy ears is.

The equally impressive photography was taken by Daniela Alfaro Enkantazya.

It feels like there are just about as many hairstyles as there are people these days.  As with people, some look better than others but there is definitely no shortage of options if you are looking to change up your do.  Even if you have hair as short as I do, you can still get something like the kid with the amazing Super Mario haircut or even the awesome Sonic haircut below!

I’m not sure who this kid is or the talented barber is that did it to them but I’d say that is one cool kid with one great barber!  I’d say this kid also has some amazing parents to let them do this kind of thing too.  I know my parents would have never let me do something like this when I was a kid!

Now I really feel like playing some Sonic the Hedgehog this weekend but I can’t find any of the game cartridges for my Sega Genesis.  I have all of the boxes for the games but the games themselves are gone.  I guess I will be taking a trip to the local used game store after I get off of work today.

A while back, I posted a sweet Legend of Zelda purse that had even guys wanting to carry it around (myself included) and now, from the same maker of that awesome purse comes some really cool Legend of Zelda panties!  I have a guys will be wanting these too even if wearing women’s underwear is weird/creepy/taboo.

Etsy seller DisturbinglyAdorable is selling these awesome Legend of Zelda panties for $18.99.  In case you are uncertain, the Legend of Zelda map for these panties is from Link’s Awakening.  They also come in several sizes depending on what you need.  Any lady would look really cute in these!

I want to know why guys can’t get cool underwear like this?  I remember as a kid, you could get underwear with superheroes and stuff on them but why don’t they make video game underwear for men?  I have no desire to wear women’s underwear but I would love to have a pair of Legend of Zelda briefs with this pattern on them.

Why did I have to be a guy?!?!?  WHY!?!?!?!?!

Legend of Zelda Nail Art

June 24, 2013 — 1 Comment

Even though I am not the kind of guy that is interested in painting their own nails for whatever reason, I still enjoy seeing really cool nail art.  Last week I posted some pretty cool Duck Hunt fingernail art (that you can learn how to paint yourself) that people seem to have really enjoyed so I thought I would follow that up with some equally awesome Legend of Zelda fingernail art.

These cool Wind Waker inspired Legend of Zelda nails were created by Silly Nails.  Princess Zelda and Link are obviously included (what Legend of Zelda nails wouldn’t be complete without them?) but there is also the Hylian Crest and even Link’s top and belt!

I think the Legend of Zelda universe would be a great subject for much more fingernail art because there are so many different characters, enemies, and games that the amount of material you have to work with is almost endless!  So, if you decide to do some cool Zelda nail art, let us know in the comments below and make sure to share pictures!

This makes me wish I could go home from work right now and play some Legend of Zelda.

Ever since I quit wearing a watch, haven’t been one for wearing anything around my wrists.  While I don’t mind wearing something around my wrist, one of the many reasons I stopped wearing a watch was because I didn’t like it plucking at the hair on my arms (I wore it kind of high on my arm because I liked it tight so it wouldn’t flop around) which means the bracelet below would definitely not be for me since it looks like it would be worse than my watch in that respect.  However, as a big Zelda fan, I really love this bracelet!

Etsy seller ShinyThingsbyOrin is selling this Legend of Zelda inspired Pillars of the Triforce bracelet for just $40.  While it may not be right for me because of my arm hair pluckage issues, I think that one of you needs to be the proud owner of this awesome Triforce bracelet!

I know guys don’t normally wear stuff like this but I think even some Zelda loving guys could pull this off.

It has been a while since I have played Skyrim (I never went back and finished it some reason so maybe that is what I will do this weekend), but I still enjoy seeing some great Skyrim cosplay.  In the past, I have posted a bunch of great Skyrim cosplay including an award-winning Karliah cosplay, some incredible Daedirc cosplay and even some rather sexy Dovahkiin cosplay.  Well, now we can add a female High Elf to that list of fantastic Skyrim cosplay posts.

This stunning Skyrim female High Elf cosplay was done by Jenifer Ann and photographed by Brian Moilanen.  The pictures were taken around Jacksonville, FL and the costume was made entirely by hand with the faux armor being made of craft foam, metallic paint and gems.

I think this Skyrim cosplay is amazing but I don’t think I would want to see it in person.  There is just something creepy about the eyes that would have me running the opposite direction in fear for my life.  I think it is a hot look, just a bit creepy.

Most people don’t know this little fact about me, but I used to be utterly repulsed by tattoos of any kind regardless of where they were on the body or how big they were.

I always used to prefer the look of plain skin to tattoos of whatever and to an extent that is still true.  However, I think part of my original dislike of tattoos was that I has just never seen any that were really well done (I guess the tattoo artists and prison inmates in my area suck at doing decent looking tattoos).  It wasn’t until I went to a local sci-fi convention and saw a women with an an incredibly well done Spock tattoo on one shoulder blade and an equally good looking Picard tattoo on the other that I realized they could actually be pretty cool.  Now I have come to really enjoy them (assuming they are well done).

Well, speaking of tattoos that are well done, I think this Super Mario Bros tattoo on this persons leg has to be one of if not the best Mario tattoos I have ever seen!  The color is perhaps the best I have seen on ANY tattoo as well!

Unfortunately, I don’t know who this leg belongs to or who the tattoo artist was that inked this work of gaming art so if you know who they are, please let me know in the comments below so we can give them credit!
