Super Mario 8-Bit BBQ Father’s Day Tee Is Only $5!

With Father’s Day just a couple of weeks away (June 15th for those who don’t know), have you figured out what you are getting your father or the dad in your life for the special day?  To be honest, it hadn’t even crossed my mind yet as I am one of those people that doesn’t get whatever gift I am getting until the last minute (also known as the last day possible for Amazon to get it to me on time).  However, for those of you who aren’t horrible procrastinators like I am and know the dad they are getting a gift for is a gamer, then I think I have found the t-shirt for you and it is dirt cheap!

The awesome folks over at ThinkGeek are selling this really cool Super Mario 8-Bit BBQ Father’s Day t-shirt for only $5!  The shirt features Mario doing a little grilling with the words ‘Father’s Day 2014 ThinkGeek” under it.

I’m not even a father and I want this shirt, especially for only $5!  I’m not sure how I look in that much red but it is still a really cool shirt.

Video games have been a huge part of my life (I got my first console when I turned 2) and there is a special place in my heart for all of the old school 8-bit video games I loved as a kid.  I still enjoy going back and playing those over 20 years later and some such as Super Mario Bros and Donkey Kong Jr are games I still play on a daily basis.

Well, if you are also a fan of classic 8-bit video games and are feeling a bit nostalgic, I have found a shirt you are going to love!

NES Fans Will Love This Duck Hunt Skirt!

It has been a long time since I have played Duck Hunt but I spent a quite a few hours during my childhood trying to shoot the dog as he mocked me for not hitting one of the ducks.  As annoying as that dog was, I don’t think the game would have been quite as fun without him.  Perhaps that is why I love this skirt so much because it does feature the dog mocking you!

Etsy seller GoFollowRabbits is selling this awesome Duck Hunt skirt for just $45.99.  This skirt is 19″ long and is sure to look great on any NES loving girls.  Sorry guys, but you just don’t have the legs to pull this one off no matter how bad you want to so don’t even try.

If you do end up getting this skirt, I want to see pictures of you wearing it!

Old School Gamers Will Love This Pac-Man Hoodie [pic]

Hoodies have never really been my thing for some reason (I’ve just never been a fan), but I would love to have this awesome Pac-Man hoodie!  This is perhaps the only hoodie I have ever really wanted and I am extremely tempted to buy it!

The geektastic folks over at ThinkGeek are selling this awesome Pac-Man hoodie for $49.99.  That feels a tad high for me but I have never shopped for hoodie before so that could be a great price and I just don’t know it.  Either way, I would still pay that price just to have an awesome Pac-Man hoodie!

If you are looking for a great conversation starter for talking with gamers, this is the perfect way to do it!  I find there is no easier way to start a conversation with somebody geeky than by wearing something that shows you are a geek.

Rampage 8-Bit Ties [pic]

I have always hated wearing neckties, but these Rampage ties are by far the coolest ties I have ever seen!  A while back, I posted an awesome one-of-a-kind Duck Hunt tie by Maya Pixelskaya and she seems to be at it again with these amazing Rampage ties!  Rampage was always one of my favorite games as a kid because I just loved punching buildings until they fell.  Well, if you are a big Rampage fan like I am, the Ralf tie (werewolf) is currently up for sale on Ebay with 9 days remaining on the auction as of the time of this writing.  However, you are probably going to have to break into your savings account if you hope to win it as it is already at $166.81 with 17 bids.

Duck Hunt Chest Tattoos [pic]

One of my favorite games growing up was Duck Hunt on the NES.  I think perhaps that may have been where I first got my love for guns.  Well, I am not the only one who loves that NES classic but I am not sure I love it enough to tattoo a couple of 8-bit ducks to my chest.  The guy with this tattoo is Steve McHaggis and he is apparently thinking of getting the snickering dog tattooed on his ribs to complete the Duck Hunt theme and I think this is the best tattoo idea I have ever heard!  I bet the gamer girls go wild over this guy!  If you have any geeky tattoos, drop us a line and tell us about them at pcnerd37 [at] globalgeeknews.com

2D Link Cosplay [pic]

I love all forms of cosplay but having grown up on 8-bit video games, there is a special place in my heart for some great 8-bit, 2D cosplay.  This is perhaps one of the best examples of that as somebody decided to use what appears to be a bunch of cardboard to make some awesome 8-bit, 2D Legend of Zelda Link cosplay.  I’d definitely say this is right up there with the 8-bit Samus cosplay I posted over on my other blog, Global Geek News.  If you have seen any great 8-bit cosplay you think I should post, let me know in the comments below!
