It never ceases to amaze me just what works of art can be accomplished on the tiny canvas that is a person’s fingernails. Whether it is the exploding TARDIS fingernail art I posted in the past or the Legend of Zelda nail art I have also posted, I am always blown away by the amount of detail that some people put into painting their nails. Well, speaking of amazing fingernail art, I just stumbled upon some great Spider-Man fingernail art that I’m sure you guys will enjoy just as much as I did!
This awesome Spider-Man manicure was created by Starfish on the Beach. While all of the nails are impressive, I think I like the one on the middle finger the best with the Spider-Man logo showing from underneath a jacket or something that is being unzipped. Trying to get that tiny detail on that zipper couldn’t have been easy!
It never ceases to amaze me just how romantic some geeks can be and the lengths they will go to when they propose to that special someone in their life. I’ve seen elaborate proposals and some pretty cool rings and this definitely qualifies as a pretty sweet engagement ring! In the past, I have featured a cool Portal Companion Cube engagement ring and an absolutely stunning Legend of Zelda engagement ring but when it comes to simple, classy and elegant, this Batman and Harley Quinn ring is perhaps my favorite.
This awesome Batman and Harley Quinn ring was designed by Daniel Maffett for his fiancée and made by Tom Sayers of Sayers Jewelers. The design is very well done in my opinion and I love the end result!
Here is what Daniel had to say about the ring and his proposal.
“My goal going into this design was to create a ring that was traditionally elegant and sleek but represented my fiancé and I. Comic books are a big part of us and her favorite is obviously Batman and her favorite character is Harley Quinn,” says Daniel. Delivering the ring was the couple’s dog who proudly carried it in a sack of coal to Daniel’s fiancé.
It never ceases to amaze me how a little eye makeup can really transform the look of a person. It can be quite jarring to see side by side pictures of somebody with and without eye makeup. However, it is not very often that you see somebody that will do anything really special with their eye makeup so when somebody goes above and beyond with some sort of geeky design, I love to feature it.
Back in February, I posted some really cool Riddler eye makeup that the Batman fans loved. Well, the same person that did that amazing Riddler makeup also did this stunning Spider-Man eye makup!
DeviantART user KikiMJ is the woman behind this spectacular Spider-Man eye makeup. I’d say she did a heck of a job! I can’t even imagine how difficult it is to get this type of precision on your own eye. I know I don’t have the coordination to do it!
If you have done any similar geeky makeup jobs, let us know because we would love to see pictures!
Like many Batman fans, I grew up watching the Batman tv show from this 60s (I’m not that old, I just watched the reruns that were still playing over 20 years later) and of all of the characters on the show, I think the Riddler was perhaps my favorite. While I have never got into the Batman comic books, there are many people that have and have a love for the Riddler from there. And apparently one of those people also happens to be pretty talented when it comes to amazing eye makeup designs too!
DeviantART user KikiMJ created this phenomenal created this amazing Riddler eye makeup based on the DC comic book character. I’d say she did quite a spectacular job! If you like this, I’d suggest checking out her DeviantART account as she has a ton of other amazing eye makeup art and some rather creepy looking zombie makeup jobs.
It feels appropriate to end this post with a classic Riddler riddle from the 60s Batman tv show for you guys to answer in the comments. Don’t cheat and look it up, try to figure it out!
Riddle: What is it that’s always coming but never arrives?
While the internet seems to be obsessed with Poison Ivy cosplay lately (such as the steampunk Poison Ivy cosplay I posted last week), I thought it would be fun to post some super sexy Batgirl cosplay instead! And of course there is no sexier way to do Batgirl cosplay than with body paint!
Model / cosplayer Amber Deville is the sexy woman sporting this fantastic Batgirl cosplay. From the looks of it, other than the boots, cape, mask, ect., I am pretty sure the rest of the “costume” is body paint which looks pretty darn good!
The pictures were taken by photographer Ben Britt who I would say did a pretty good job even though the backgrounds are pretty obviously photoshopped in.
Is there some new obsession with Poison Ivy that nobody has told me about? Over the past month or so, I have been seeing all kinds of great Poison Ivy cosplay. However, this is the first steampunk Poison Ivy that I think I have come across and it is pretty cool! I love the combination of steampunk and anything else so its safe to say this gets two thumbs up from me!
This awesome steampunk Poison Ivy cosplay is being sported by Rikkux12. The sexy yet tasteful pictures were taken by Robbins Studios. Between the cosplay and the photography, this is full of awesomeness. The world needs more Batman universe inspired steampunk cosplay!
I don’t know if it is the quality of the tattoo artists where I live or the poor ability of people to pick/design a decent tattoo (maybe both), but the tattoos that I see people sporting around where I live really suck. Well, most aren’t terrible but in comparison to tattoos like this Batman inspired tattoo below, they make you wonder why they even bothered to get one in the first place.
This amazing tattoo of Batman punching Joker was inked by Josh at City of Ink in Christchurch, New Zealand. The detail on this Batman tattoo is very impressive! I would say Josh hit a home run when he inked this tattoo! The guy who also had it inked on his side is clearly a pretty cool dude too!
However, I am curious if the tattoo is black and white or just the photo?
With the exception of the amazing Futurama fingernail art I posted a couple of days ago, it seems like most of the fingernail art I share seems to be only done on one hand. I’m not sure if that is a left vs right handed issue that means most of the fingernail art I come across is only done on one hand or just why that is the case, but one handed fingernail art seems to be the majority of what I come across. Well, today is an exception!
Holly, the amazing fingernail artist over on the Nailed It With Glitter Tumblr blog decided to take on the challenge of making some Batman fingernail art that only makes sense if you match up the fingers on both hands. The idea is quite clever and turned out to be some of the coolest fingernail art I have seen! Great job Holly!
When it comes to Batgirl cosplay, I have seen some pretty impressive pictures, but none quite as impressive as this spectacular Batgirl cosplay! Seriously, she looks like she just walked off of a movie set!
Cosplayer Alexia Jean Grey is the redhead sporting this incredible Batgirl cosplay for Adam Jay from Superhero Photography. I definitely wouldn’t mess with this Batgirl, it looks like she could seriously kick my butt!
While I may be more of a fan of the Batgirl from the 60s Batman TV show, there is no way I can deny that this looks better than the 60s Batgirl ever did. Great job to both Alexia and Adam on the costume and these pictures!
Other than the Lois and Clark tv show years ago, I have never really been a huge Superman fan. However, I do enjoy when women dress up as Superman. Whether you want to call them Superwoman or Supergirl, I don’t think it matters as long as you can appreciate just how sexy the Superman cosplay is in the pictures below. If only there wasn’t that really creepy looking guy in the picture on the right…
